Fear-Free
At our clinic, your pet’s emotional well-being is just as important as their physical health. As a Fear Free practice, we are committed to creating a calm, positive experience for every patient. We never force pets into stressful situations or push them beyond what they can comfortably handle. Instead, we take the time to build trust, use gentle handling techniques, and tailor each visit to your pet’s individual needs. If a pet is feeling overwhelmed, we’ll adjust our approach, take breaks, or discuss other options like trying again another day to ensure their visit is as safe and stress-free as possible. Our goal is to make every visit a positive experience- for both you and your pet!
- Music:
In each room, we play soft, pet relaxation music. - Pheromones:
We utilize two pheromone sprays and diffusers: Adaptil for dogs and Feliway for cats. These sprays mimic the hormone secreted by a mama cat or dog and are proven to make your pet feel calmer. You will find diffusers plugged into our exam rooms, treatment, and boarding areas. *We do carry and sell these products at the clinic. - Cat Only Room:
We have a “Cat Only” room. Whenever possible, we will have you wait in this room instead of in the lobby with everyone else. The room has a cat tree, and we encourage our feline friends to get out of their carriers and explore, hide, or do whatever makes them most comfortable. The room has cat treats, toys, and cat grass. We also have a Feliway diffuser plugged in the room that dispenses this pheromone continuously. - Bed Buddy Friends:
Our treatment and surgical patients are in cages with a soft toy that has been treated with Adaptil, a dog pheromone spray, or Feliway, a cat pheromone spray. This helps reduce their anxiety. We also always try to speak quietly and move slowly, and behave calmly around all pets. We cover cat carriers with a towel sprayed with Feliway and perform all treatments as far away from any dogs as possible. - Bandanas and Towels:
As you enter our clinic, we will place a pheromone-infused bandana on your dog or a pheromone-infused towel over your cat’s carrier. - Treats:
All around the clinic, we have many treats. Please feel free to use them. We try to reward your pets often and consistently when they are here.
